I found this note very troubling. Did they actually say that?

Also, I found this statement equating idolatry with seeking prominence, a glaring example of Watchtower conveniently creating its own definitions to serve its own ends:

Seeking prominence in the secular field for ourselves.

Did you notice the "secular" qualifier? So that means if you're seeking prominence in the organization - reaching out to be a pioneer, elder, ms, etc - then you're automatically exempt from being guilty of idolatry? So if a JW's seeking of prominence benefits the organization then such prominence seeking must be excluded from being considered idolatrous? What a self-serving hyprocrite the organization is proving to be!

One thing about this site that bothers me

the constant references to 'window washers' as something derogatory.. i understand the context of it-that most jws are uneducated, and unqualified to do much more.

but sometimes the references seem snobbish, almost mean-spirited.

one poster, on another thread, essentially referred to window washers as 'losers'.

You know, there's a certain irony to the perception that many JWs are window washers, in light of the fact that many Kingdom Halls don't have windows. LOL

"Why don't kingdom halls have windows? Because window washers don't like to be reminded of the job."

OK, the wording needs some work but there's a good joke in there somewhere.

Has anyone noticed in the NWT book of Psalms, some of them the "S" is left off

i was at a meeting.

we were in psalms..i don't know why i was looking at the other books of psalms, & noticed that the"s" was left off of psalms...don't remember what chapters, being i don't have my bible with me now....check it out for yourselves.

i will come back when i find it myself.

Legacy, just out of curiosity, are you living in what might be considered as a third world or less developed country? I ask this because I know that multinational corporations sometimes 'dump' substandard, flawed products that won't sell in developed countries, on the market in less developed countries. I live in a less developed country and I notice that the cover of the April 2014 Awake "Why Go On?" has a number of spots on it. Something went wrong with the printing process. Are any of you guys living in developed countries noticing any spots on your April 2014 Awake cover?

This is a very important issue as trivial as it may seem. How often do you see typographical and grammatical errors in Watchtower literature of a few decades ago? Why are we now beginning to see more errors? This increase in errors is perhaps evidence that the org has lost Jehovah's spirit and blessing. (If you believe they ever had those to begin with)

cofty made an excellent point that we often hear what it isn't, but that really isn't useful.. so, what is it?

Perhaps this is to have an extra day so that the CO can meet with the elders and ministerial servants on separate days. Currently many COs meet with the elders and ms on the same night. Maybe the CO meetings with elders will get longer and so they need to devote a whole night for meeting with just the elders alone and to ensure that such a night is available they have to cut one of the regular cong. meeting nights. Perhaps.

Another factor could be the difficulty of getting free nights for an additional meeting night when a hall is being shared by 3 or more congregations.
